our story

Bright Box CLE was born on a gloomy day in February in the cold blistery city of Cleveland, OH. Things were going awry in my personal life and the only thing I could think of doing was eat. I went to the local market and trolled the aisles for something delicious and healthy. I grabbed raspberries, strawberries, blackberries, tons of cheeses, salami and prosciutto, pistachios and pumpkin seeds… I mean I was really bummed out so I needed all the happy foods to help my mood. As I went through the checkout line I began to feel my face get flush. It was the nearing the end of the first year of the COVID pandemic and I was lonely, sad and quite frankly depressed. The cashier asked how I was doing and I burst into tears. She stood there and hugged me which was against all COVID precautions and as she hugged me she looked me in my eyes and sincerely said “ I hope things get brighter for you.” In that moment, I was determined that they would. She finished ringing me out and I quickly left the market and hurried home. Once I got home I made a charcuterie board with all the meats and cheeses and fruits I thought would lift my spirits! Just making them gave me something meaningful to do with my time and got my mind off of feeling low. I snapped a picture and shared it on my social media platforms and everyone was so interested in buying the board I had made. A friend called and told me I should share them with more people and the rest is history!

I named our company Bright Box CLE because I wanted others to experience the brightness and TLC I felt when eating those specialty foods.
